Latest Updates from Our Project:

FIRST LOOK: "Wanderer's Feast" + Durruti Backerkit is LIVE
over 2 years ago – Fri, Nov 19, 2021 at 01:30:16 AM

Hey Comrades!

After a long wait, Durruti #1 is GOING TO PRINT. We will be shipping later than we anticipated (largely due to the unprecedented response and the need to get the stretch goals EXACTLY right) AAAAND a new project that I am SUPER stoked to tell you all about.

As you know, Enon Films has OPTIONED the rights for Durruti: Shadow of the People...and not only that, they and I are working on a prequel feature, based on an earlier incident in Durruti's life:

I'm VERY excited about the preliminary casting.

This is based on a true story--a clandestine meeting between a young Durruti and a Mexican Anarchist in Tampico's "Finest Restaurant" that will help to set up the events for "Durruti: Shadow of the People" and if we play our cards right--perhaps and entire anarchist cinematic universe (take THAT Marvel!)...and you can read all about it in the FIRST EDITION PRINT RUN of Autonomous Collective's Durruti: Shadow of the People #1!

Which brings me to our second point:

Durruti Backerkit Surveys Have Been Sent!

They are now ALL sitting in your email boxes (the email you used for kickstarter), please fill them out as quickly as possible...and while you do PLEASE consider adding on a few items...the money goes to a good cause and there's some new stuff available INCLUDING any stretch goals you may have missed AND the chance to get an MP3/WAV copy of that *incredible* A Las Barricades cover from the opening trailer:

By Javi "Diabalito" follow him at @javitrino

And if you wound up giving below the stretch goals, you now have a chance to add on, the Patch, Pin, Coin or Bandanna and even get all four at a special rate:

"We carry a new world in our hearts"

And, just to make this 100% clear *IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR SHIPPING YOU DO **NOT** NEED TO PAY TWICE.*

Some people are happy to pay for extra shipping (And if you do the money will go back into the series), BUT so long as I can fit everything into the same box and the weight doesn't get out of hand--if you already paid for shipping on kickstarter and would rather not pay again, just message me on KS or email SnowWhiteZombie "at" gmail "dot" com after placing your order and I will WAVE any extra shipping.

Thanks so much comrades! and PLEASE:

Get the surveys filled out as quickly as possible.

I CANNOT send you your rewards without a shipping address AND I can't send out the digital copy of Durruti #1 with YOUR name in the back if you don't tell me how you want to be listed.

Durruti #1 goes to print in a WEEK and will hopefully be to you before Christmas!

Adelante!

Durruti Patch & Coin Reveal + Upcoming Backerkit Surveys!
over 2 years ago – Fri, Nov 12, 2021 at 02:32:15 PM

Comrades,

Wow! Time certainly flies. Since the close of this INCREDIBLE campaign I have been neck-deep in fulfillment, making sure that I can get out all of these incredible premiums and stretch goals. Not only that, but despite the campaign being over, people STILL keep preordering Durruti #1!

I had hoped this passion-project would get funded, but I NEVER expected this huge of a response to a historical comic that was so different from my other work. It's a real testament to the strength of Durruti's memory.

I am happy to annouce that *all* stretch goal rewards are being created as we speak, and I even have prototypes to show you of the super awesome premiums YOU unlocked!

So, without further ado (Drumroll please):

Durruti Coin

"Every one of us carries a new world, here--in our hearts."

Holy moly, this this incredible. The coin is fully 3-D, featuring a bust of Durruti along with his name and the years he was on this planet. The back features the familiar "A" encircled by an "O" along with one of Durruti's most famous statements, roughly translated to: "Every one of us carries a new world in our hearts."

The outer edge is the familiar "gear" shape that, if you're paying attention is a VERY important metaphor/motif in Durruti: Shadow of the People:

Always

Durruti Patch

Onward!

Okay, this is SUPER COOL. This patch is FULLY STICHED and features the image of an anarchist militia going into battle, along with the Republican slogan "Adelante!" (onward/advance) which philosophically and militarily is in my opinion a FAR better slogan than "No Passaran".

And finally, the Piece de Resistance (Pun intended):

Durruti Pin:

The Only Thing Missing / Is a Dove Above / Raging and Delicate

Okay, this is an incredible one-of-a-kind pin that will attach perfectly to a jacket, shirt or hat. I LOVE the angelic symbolism and the reference to the Tunon poem about Durruti.

All in all these are SUPER cool, so keep an eye on your email, you will be getting a survey from backerkit early next week and if you're not already getting these as part of your pledge you will get the chance to order them.

Solidarity,

-Brenton

NEW DURRUTI COMIC UNLOCKED! NEW DURRUTI STRETCH GOALS!
over 2 years ago – Sat, Oct 16, 2021 at 01:52:52 PM

Comrades,

Than you so much of all of your support. Every time I return to this page I see more enthusiasm and excitement. It is a testament to the power of Durruti's story, which--even almost 100 years after his death--continues to captivate an inspire new generations.

HUGE welcome to the AK Press, Anarchist Library, and Behind the Bastards people (in case anyone was wondering who those folks who keep commenting "Bastards" are)!

I am incredibly happy to announce that you have blown through several stretch goals before I could even announce them. So, here's what you get (Drumroll please):

UNLOCKED: DURRUTI "LOS ERRANTES" ASHCAN!

So, Durruti: Shadow of the People actually picks up fairly late in the story of Durruti's life. For reasons of time and story structure Durruti #1 starts with his imprisonment in France, BUT before that Durruti's life was filled with intrigue, adventure, shootouts and daring escapes...this is stuff that I really WANTED to include in the main story, but just didn't make sense chronologically.

So, since this campaign surpassed $12,000, Jaime and I were able to launch the first six-page ashcan detailing the first of many of these adventures in the life of The First Avenger!

EVERYONE who has given to this campaign at the $5 level or higher will get a digital copy of this ashcan, and printed copies will be available in the near future.

UNLOCKED: DIGITAL COMICS SAMPLER

For breaking $1500, everyone at the "Postal Comrade" ($8 + S/H) level and above will receive a link for a number of additional comic digital downloads from hard-hitting creators like David Pepose, Dave Dwonch and Scout Comic's own Andrea Molinari -- who is the editor on this project. Enjoy!

NEW STRETCH GOALS!

SOCIAL MEDIA STRETCH GOAL:

Now the stretch goals still to be broken, so first of all, as there's more than 350 of you, this one should be a snap: IF you can get THIS TWEET to 50 RT's or more before the campaign closes, EVERYONE who has pledged at The Book level ($14 + SH) or HIGHER will get this Print ABSOLUTELY FREE:

And just in time for the holidays!

STRETCH GOAL: $17,000 -- DURRUTI COLUMN PATCH!

Durruti Artist Jaime Infante is hard at work creating a patch to celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of Durruti's anarchist army The Durruti Column:

The commemorative patch (still being created) can be sewn on to a shirt, jacket, bag or backpack, and will be available FREE to anyone who has donated $20 or more (not including shipping)

STRETCH GOAL: $19,000 -- DURRUTI CHALLENGE COIN

If we can top $19000 we will have a FULLY 3-D minted challenge coin featuring this series' distinctive "Gear" design. It will have Durruti's image on the front and an anarchist "A" on the reverse along with Durruti's famous quote: "We Carry a New World in Our Hearts".

The art isn't ready at this point BUT anyone who remembers my work on the Snow White Zombie Apocalypse challenge coins knows to expect a similarly high level of detail and quality:

If we hit this goal before the campaign closes everyone at the "Militant" ($50 not including S/H) level or above will receive this coin ABSOLUTELY FREE.

Now, onto the mutual aid.

AUTONOMOUS COLLECTIVE KICKSTARTER SPOTLIGHT:

There are a number of amazing projects which have supported us that you should consider backing:

#1) Hans Vogel is Dead

Hans Vogel is Dead is an anti-fascist fairy tale crossed with historical fantasy about the power of stories, the question of individual responsibility in a totalitarian regime, and the struggle to become a better person. It's by historian and comic creator Sierra Barnes and is being put out by Cast Iron Books.

They're almost to their goal with only six days to go. I HIGHLY recommend this graphic novel.

#2) Laos: The Fall of the Kingdom

This is a story of anti-colonization in a mythologized alternate past. The cover looks PHENOMINAL and we are backers on this campaign so you should be too. They are fully funded with seventeen days to go so grab yourself a copy before you're shit out of luck.

3) Freakier than Normal

Uh oh.

This is an action & comedy series from Dominican creators that is heavily inspired by videogames, Japanese manga, and judging by the above page...uh, other stuff from Japan.

It has a nostalgic "ascended webcomic" vibe with some more than solid artwork. Humor books are hard to do and this one just looks like a ton of fun. They are fully-funded with 17 days to go, so be sure to check them out!

4) Dracula: Visions

Whether actual creatures of the night, or a metaphor for capital, who doesn't love vampires? This 56-Page Art Book looks really nifty and will probably make a great (belated) Halloween gift for someone.

They have 35 days to go and are already close to their goal, so if you can, check 'em out.

That's it for now,

Durruti is FUNDED!!!
over 2 years ago – Tue, Oct 05, 2021 at 12:26:36 PM

Comrades!

In just eight days you have made sure that Durruti: Shadow of the People is fully funded! Thanks to you, this comic is happening! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Durruti's is such an important story and the only way Jaime and I get to tell it, is with your support.

In celebration, I've made this short (5 Min.) Bio to give you background info about Durruti's Life and hint at where the story is going:

I will be announcing stretch goals shortly, in the meantime if there's anything you're particularly interested in getting (stickers, patches, coins, cards a supplemental comic) please leave it in a comic and be sure to SHARE this campaign with your friends!

People have also been asking where they can find the trailer itself, which is here, on my youtube channel:

Finally, please check out these projects who have supported us:

Those of you who are familiar with my other work know I'm into horror comics, and hey: Gehenna: Death Valley is an Award Winning Horror Graphic Novel.

The basic plot is "Scooby-Doo goes to Hell, but without the dog or the Mystery Machine, and the monsters are 100% REAL!"

It's wholesome body horror content, ya dig?

Annd,

I LOVE puns in series titles

Russell Nohelty is an absolutely awesome guy who's been incredibly helpful and always puts out great work, and this quirky horror/humor book is no exception.

PLUS they're fully funded and have only four hours left, so:

Grab yourself a copy before you're shit out of luck!

Thanks everyone,

Adelante!
